I am trying make a VCD. Vegas 5 says that the file rendered, burned and closed with no errors. When I put the VCD in the drive windows media will not see it as a VCD, it shows the files that are on the VCD to play thru windows I have to tell windows to play the VCD thru pulldown menu and then what drive it is in. Could someone please help me out with this one. I know it can not be this hard. I have used Vegas 4 and now vegas 5 but I do not think I have ever burned a VCD???
Thank you so much in advance!!

Sounds about right. WMP does play the VCD once you tell it what to do right? So why do you think the problem is the way that Vegas burned the VCD?

Have you tried other player software (PowerDVD, WinDVD)?

I have never known anything special you have to do when creating a VCD in Vegas to make it autoplay... that seems to be a function of the player software you have.

I don't know about what Vegas does, but the few times I've recently burned a CD using Nero when I try to play them back on the PC the files if they're videos or MP3 show up in a play list on the right side of version nine of Microsoft's Media Player. You select and click...they play.

If you try to access them from Windows' Explorer, then you select a file like any file. With Power DVD or other players, they generally show up in some play list too.

I did try another burning another VCD and I think what is happening, paid close attention this time, is the 'closing' process seems to be only completing to about 13% then closes??
