CMX3600 EDL: Avid / Final Cut???

Since doing a "Clean Media Pool" I haven't been able to add any new files. Regardless of what format the files are in (psd, png, bmp), Vegas identifies them as "CMX3600 EDL: Avid / Final Cut", and when I try to import them the error reads: Unable to parse line #1: "8BPS". If I look at the properties of the file it shows:

Type: Photoshop
Size: 718.05 KB (735,279 bytes)
Created: Tuesday, March 23, 2004, 4:39:30 PM
Modified: Tuesday, March 23, 2004, 4:39:30 PM
Accessed: Friday, May 21, 2004, 10:21:03 AM
Attributes: Archive

Streams
Still: 719x480x32, RLE Compression

Plug-In
Name: stl2plg.dll
Folder: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 5.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\stl2plg
Version: Version 1.3 (Build 1644)
Company: Sony Pictures Digital Inc.

Not sure what any of this means, but I am dead in the water until I can get past this problem. FYI, the files import properly in Photoshop, etc. Any ideas what's happening?

Very odd- please save the project, restart Vegas...

and if that doesn't work send the .veg project file to

Dr.dropout@sonypictures.com

and I'll check it out for you.

I tried saving the file and restarting Vegas. I even popped in the master disk and did a repair... no luck. The 'fix' was to move all the files to a new directory. I did a stupid thing updating V4 to V5 right in the middle of a project, and it has cost me a lot of time. Right now, anything that works is good enough. Perhaps later when the project is done, I'll go back and investigate this more.
