codec????

After rendering and re-rendering various events with filters and transitions, I noticed noise and choppy/grainy transitions (on a larger TV screen). After checking a few forums, Main Concept DV Codec was suggested: Anyone using it with Windows XP & V.V.3? Morgan M-JPeg Codec V3 was also highly recommended...

Any other suggestions to improve rendering...and yes I have checked S.F. tips on capture & render.

Thanks

I am shooting DV, my default settings are DV NTSC as well as my file properties, audio tabs @ 48KHz, matching source clips and I render @ DV NTSC template setting, but I also tried rendering at DV NTSC (good) + resample frame rate the whole project, without much difference.

I used the brightness contrast, HSL & film affect. First I render each event with FXs separately and after render the whole project with the transitions and text media in resample mode. My option=preferences are as you suggested: MS codec unchecked.

What type of codecs is V.V. using: lossless, uncompress RGB type?

Would using something like Grain Surgery plug-in reduce the noise and compression artifacts?... although I don't use After Effects

First, why do you need to render twice? Vegas will do it all in one pass.
Second, did you check the box for "ignore 3rd party DV codecs" ?
Third, film fx has a grain setting. Was that activated?
