Codec render settings not supported

"The selected codec does not support the current render settings"

Is there a convenient way to find out what settings any codec supports? In this case it is the Canopus HQ codec, and I have not found data on this, and I have have looked all over the Internet..

Thanks! I was there earlier today, but did not [literally] read the fine print.
