Randy,

If you got the same Vegas Video 3 package that I did, then it includes a second CD ("Content") which includes a directory titled "1001 Sound Effects". Look under the "Test Tones" subdirectory and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

The only thing that I can think of
that might help you is, If you for
instance output your video to tape
directly from the timeline.

You first set your format, and then
hit next. Now you can set your SMPTE
test pattern (your color bars).

Now set the duration of this test patern
and check the little box that says
"PLAY 1 khz tone w\test patern".

Good luck! hope it helps

Yes thank you I found that file on my Vegas 3.0 CD. However, none of these files can be open. It is showing a weird icon with two speakers. What kind of player do I need to hear it?

Kpitrl,
You said, "Output your video to tape directly from the timeline."

I'm confussed in what you mean here. Do I get there from mouse clicking on tools, options ect..???

Yes, go to tools, and click on "print video to DV tape"

Kpitrl,
Thank you. I did everything you said; it ask me to render my whole color bar area and it did. However, it then said my DV tape is offline. I don't have a DV tape. I checked the time line just to see if it added the high pitch frequency though but it did not...oh well.
I do have the Vegas CD with the sound clip but it's a very weird icon with two speakers and it won't open...Do you know what media player can open this file?

No, I,m not sure what that is but, when it said your DV tape is off line.
it's refering to your DV camera, assuming thats what you have.

The output to tape feature, to my knowlede, is for digital video
cameras only ( mini DV, or digital 8) and they must be connected
during output, or (online)

If you have this type of camera, i'm sure that feature will give
you what you need.

randyvild,

One more thing, that would be via firewire port.

I'm sorry if I threw you off, but I didn't think
to ask if you were using a digital cam , and
firewire.

There's probably is another way to accomplish this,
but I'm not sure how.

sorry if I thew ya!,

KPITRL

BTW, I seen your video clip "No Ones Bigger"

Loved it!

Kpitrl,
Thank you for your help. Ya I don't have a video cam right now but I did figure out how to get that High pitch frequency thanks to DCRandall. On the Vegas 3.o disk you go to audio clips and then import the clip "test tones". It works great!

I love this forum.

PS Thanks for the comment on no ones bigger then baseball. I have been trying to contact Nike for the idea but there about impossible. I wrote the song about ten years ago for Daryl Strawberry when he toke drugs. I think if it was produced right it could be a great ad.
