Color bar tone on Vegas CD

On my vegas CD I purchused under directory titled "1001 Sound Effects", under the "Test Tones" subdirectory there are color bar tones. However they are only one second in length...when I stretch it out on my timeline it's not one continuous tone. It goes beeep off...beeep off...ect...
How do I make it one continuous tone?

Randy, if you zoom in far enough you'll see that the beginning and end of that clip fade in and out. If you trim it to get rid of the fades, you can then copy and paste it over again, however you'll get a pop at the transitions because the waveform won't be continuous. You can turn off "Quantize to frames" and try manually overlapping them to line up zero crossings. What's probably simpler yet is to use Sound Forge to synthesize a 1Khz sine wave at -6dB of whatever length you want and save it to a .wav or .pca file.

When you export to tape an option of color bars and tone is made available. You can use it that way, or if you need it for some other purpose, capture it after you record it to DV.
