Color Correction

I'm editing a 2 cam shoot currently and need to make the background colors the same. The background color in cam A has a blueish hue and cam B has a slight orangeish hue. The skin tones of the talent are acceptably similar. Obviously, the white balance for the location shoot was not effective.

In Final Cut Pro, you can isolate a video object and correct it through out the entire clip in one shot. For example, say youre shooting a talent show and the stage is black in color. If the stage color has a purple black hue to it when you capture it; in final cut you can easily isolate the stage and correct it throughout the entire clip. Awesome.

I have not been able to do this in Vegas. Has anyone had success in doing this and if so, how the heck do you do it? *S*

Thanks,
Stevereno

I'm not sure what exactly you're getting at, but the color corrector FX in Vegas is similar to FCP's 3-way CC. If you're doing it with FCP's 3-way CC, then you can do similar things in Vegas.

And remember to apply the FX to the clips while they're in the Project Media (i.e. before you place them on the timeline).
This way, you only have to apply the FX once instead of multiple times.

You can do this with the Color Corrector (Secondary) plug in. The help file sometimes can be your best friend.
