Color correction-blazing whites

I have some material that has blazing whites, while everything else in the frame is fine, color-wise. What's the best way to tone down the whites?

Try Colour Curves .. but just for starters, try Sony Levels reduce Gamma . . . might work . . in any case use this lot in combination with watching them Scopes! . . Got me outta some nasty corners, and no mistake! So, Scopes, Levels and Colour Curves ..
