Color Keying to remove Green Screen?

Jaked wrote on 4/5/2006, 1:36 PM

Hi Vegas gurus. I am sort of a novice with digital video but I have figured out how to use color keying in After Effects to remove a green screen from my object, which is a woman speaking. I use color keying and adjust some tolerance level and voila, I am done. Is there a way to do this in Vegas? If so, any pointers on a tutorial or technote?

Thanks!
-Jake

Use the "Chroma Keyer" fX in Vegas.

There are tutorials all over the place. Start with this one:

Gain a better understanding of Chromakey / Greenscreen / Bluescreen

Do a search in this forum using the word "key" or "keyer" or "chroma" and restrict the search to the subject line. Or, do a search for "chroma key tutorial" and search the entire message bodies in this forum.

If you figured it out in AE, what a breeze this will be . just hit chroma key fx, take the eyrdropper and hit your green , adjust accordingly, whew ,exhausting

for a Vegas novice it definitely isn't as easy as advertised, but I got it now. Now I need to figure out how to change my background color. This should be a piece of cake, but when I search in the help for background color, there is no instance of it.

There is also a tutorial on "fixing" bad keys using a garbage matte.
