I'm using a Canopus ADVC-100 (Analog to DV converter) to capture Hi8 and convert it to DV for editing in Vegas. The only problem is that I have a very distinct grey-blue color shift. I thought that it was a problem with the ADVC. But when I used a shareware program called Virtual Edit to capture DV from the ADVC, the color shift was gone.
This makes me think that Vegas is altering the DV input in some way and that the Hardware may be alright. I must admit that I do not fully understand the signal path. Anybody have any ideas or experience with this combo?
Incidentally, I have recorded the analog signal through an AIW card and then used Vegas to compress it to DV. The picture looks great when I do this.
thanks - jim
