Colour correcting a timeline

I am just learning VV 3...on the learning curve.

I have a number of commercials I have shot on a timeline and need to colour grade them individually for my showreel. That means altering some shots on each of these 30 second productions.
How do I do this? Our editor here tells me that if I change one hue, it will affect all the timeline, exactly what i dont want.
I need to adjust individual shots on the timeline.
How do I individually alter the colour of whichever shot I want on the same timeline?

By breaking your video into events then dragging whatever filter you're using to the timeline and being sure to drop it WITHIN the event boundries. This then only effects a single event. Repeat for the other events using different filter, settings. You can also setup keyframes and have a filter effect change over time for example starting with a tiny bit of filter applied to a larger amount later in the event.

An "event" can be an entire video or any length of the timeline you breakup using the split function. You may find it simpler to drag whatever filters you plan to use to the timeline BEFORE your split into events. You can then either uncheck what you don't need for a particular event or remove the filter from the event.
