Combining HD video and GOPRO Video Question

I shot a 15 minute movie in HD MXP from my Canon Vixia camera and 16x9. My son had video from his gopro which was not shot as HD and was 4x3. In SVMS 12 I combined both media files and rendered the movie.

I then opened DVDA to make a menu. Could the combining of the 2 different movies cause part of the movie in DVDA to change to black when previewed?

I have been having problems with DVDA and the screen going to black part of the way through the movie. I have been posting the problems and have been trying the suggested solutions but nothing seems to work, so I thought maybe the 2 different files could have caused the issue.

The first time I was working with DVDA 5, it opened from SVMS 12, I made simple menus with scene selections and burned the movie. It worked fine.

Now I am trying to make the DVD again but with different menus and am having problems with the black screen in DVDA. I even uninstalled both programs, reinstalled them and updated the programs, but same issue.

I just don't know what could be causing the movie to play fine for 15 minutes and then the screen goes black, but the audio still plays.

I mentioned this before but on the timeline in DVDA when you click on the movie from the overview window the movie image starts to change colors and them goes black. The image for the first 15 min are ok.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mike

"In SVMS 12 I combined both media files and rendered the movie."
You left out the critical piece of information:
To what did you render your movie?
Complete rendered file properties please.

You changed the template to include audio. Don't do that.
Render separate video and audio files, the audio as Dolby Digital AC3 DVD template.

Don't know how or if this will affect your other issue; but, giving DVDA one file with bad audio to re-render is not how it was designed.
