Not sure if this is similar to my inquiry last week - see the thread on Oct 23.

Hey AD -

My request is very similar to your request from last week. It appears like cutting and pasting is my best bet. However, I am losing keyframes - not too keen on that. I could render to .avi and pull that into my second session, I'm concerned about degradation, any further insights on that? Thanks for the previous thread.

Hi,

>>>I'm concerned about degradation, any further insights on that? <<<

You needn't worry, if you're going DV out, then DV back in. Zero loss there.

The Vegas codec holds up extremely well even when re-rendered many times, it's amazing.

Alright - I'll give it whirl. It will certainly make combining multiple scenes much easier.

Thanks,

Basically, anything that needs to be rendered will suffer a slight generation loss. Tiltles, transitions and so forth...

Reports that I have heard is that Vegas holds up well.

In any case, rendering to DV, then bringing in this file to a new project as finished (no additional editing to be done to this section), there will be no re-rendering of this portion. It will be copied bit-for-bit when assembling the entire project. So anything within this portion will most likely only be rendered once anyway.
