Combining VEG project files into master project

Years ago I created a DVD from travel footage using Vegas Pro. For some reason, I split each of 10 chapters into it's own project. (IIRC it was because I had issues importing into DVD Architect and maintaining chapters.) Now, I'd like to combine them together into one project file.

The searches I've done so far indicate that nesting is the only solution, but that it makes it a bit clunky to edit different chapters. Furthermore, it seems that editing across the entire master project may not be supported, since each (sub) project is maintained separately from all others.

Is there any way to put (sub) project files together in a master project that allows for continual and global editing?

I'm using VP 22.

One way is to open one-by-one each of the previous projects in the earlier version of Vegas Pro and progressively copy/paste each project onto Vegas Pro 22's timeline. To do this. highlight the entire timeline of the original project (Ctrl-A) then copy that project (Ctrl-C) and paste into Vegas Pro 22 (Ctrl-V). In VP22, place the cursor on the top track somewhere after the end of the previous pasted project in order to repeat the process with the subsequent project.

A few caveats: 1/ You may need to do some re-arranging of tracks in VP22 if any of the original projects have different track layouts; 2/ Ripple (all tracks) will probably need to be used to butt the start of the next project to the end of the previous project; 3/ Any FX applied at track or project level will not copy/paste so will need to be manually reset in VP22; and 4/ Any FX applied to video and audio events on the original timelines should copy/paste unless there are 3rd party FX applied that are not compatible with VP22.

Also, you can use markers or regions in VP22 to define the start/end of each of the original projects.
