Combining video clips on timeline

I have a video on the timeline ranging 10 minutes. I then have a break on the timeline because I am editing another video line. Farther down the first video timeline is another part of the video.

How do you combine the 2 videos on the same track? I know there probably is a short cut command but I can't find anything in the help menu.

I have been dragging the video along the timeline until the 2 video meet.

Once you split an, they're called Events, there is no way to combine them on the timeline. You could delete the latter event and extend the the earlier event by dragging the trailing edge to the desired point.

What I really want to do is take the 2nd clip which is say 30 minutes down the timeline and move it next to the clip that is at the start of the timeline.

I have been dragging the 2nd clip to the left and thought there was a faster way to do this.
