Combo firewire/usb

Has anyone tried the USB2.0/Firewire combo boards? Is there a downside throughput wise?

I have an Adaptec AUA-3121 (2 FireWire, 4 USB) that works great in every machine, except for DV export on one computer. It captures just fine on that machine, but previews and recordings have flashing and large-block pixelation in them (on both VV3 and Premiere output). I haven't really seen a downside on these boards, and I don't think my problems is the board itself, I think I have a driver or IRQ problem on this particular machine.

I bought the Adaptec AUA 3127 combo board. Works great in my 1.4Ghz AMD machine. No throughput issues at all.
