It doesn't look terribly unlike the ADS Firewire RAIDS, which we use 2 of. They work wonderfully.

It doesn't seem to be a RAID enclosure but coming down FW 400 that's probably not going to help anyway. Personally I use drive bays in the PC as it's much faster than firewire enclosures and cheaper and safer. But each to his own. Certainly is good value for the money as PATA drives are very cheap now.

Thanks for the comments. As I already have several P ATA drives and no place to connect them I thought it might be a good choice to tuck away unused video files. I Dont know if I can actually work from it but if I cant, I can still dump my 200 gig work disk and still have the files available.
I have open bays in my machine but no open IDE channels. I dislike the thought of more IDE ribbons. I think maybe I'll give this a try.
