I thought some of you might find this interesting.
I wrote an email to DV Magazine last week with an future article suggestion to compare the 3 software NLE's that seem to be running neck and neck. Avid Xpress DV 3.0, Apple Final Cut Pro 3.0, and Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 3.0.
Since these are three programs from three different price ranges, and yet seem to have the same design and update time frames, I figured it would be interesting to see how feature sets compare with each other.
I got a letter back saying:
-------------------------------
We're actually working on that story right now.
What type of editing facility or owner/operator
situation are you in? I ask b/c I'm interested
in which features you're looking at the most.
Media management? Timeline editing tools? EDL/OMF
input and output?
We do this stuff for youse guys, so it's always
interesting to hear what you're looking for.
thanks,
kim

Anyway, you might want to keep an eye out for that article if it sounds interesting to you.
