Hello

Is there anyway i can see a list of supported graphics card for the latest Sony Vegas Pro 21

the cards im looking to get on my new PC are the following:

10GB AMD RADEON™ RX 6700 - HDMI, DP - DX® 12

12GB AMD RADEON RX 6700 XT - HMDI, DP - DX® 12

Just want to check if both of these will work with vegas pro & allow me to render using graphics card rendering

Just about all modern GPUs are compatible including these two.

Will it allow me to render using GPU with these cards

Did you read the specifications Mark linked to? If the GPU meets the specification then yes.

(So the answer is yes, VCE encoding with these cards works in VEGAS) See render times with the 6700XT in the second benchmark in my signature.

I have the RX 6700XT, the one in the test. It works, and I can't ask for more than that. It was 3x faster than the AMD card it replace, the RX480 8GB. I have had GPU RAM usage as high as 11.2GB, and rendering with VCE works quite well.

Where there are issues with the card, it's with new graphics drivers from AMD. The latest for some reason (currently 23.9.3) do not work well with Vegas. I am using Vegas Post 21 365. I've tried every driver from 22.5.1, and most have had issues with the plugins I use (specifically New Blue FX Titler Pro 7, and most of Ignite Pro 5).

So for me to avoid any compatibility issues with everything, I've stayed with 22.5.1. Most of the updates in the drivers relates to games anyway.

AMD is not alone in this driver issue thing, Nvidia is there too.

Thanks

Are amd aware of this issue and working on a fix

I've always had nvidia as I use Adobe premiere pro but the new pc would not be as expensive of I get a amd card but don't want serious crashes

Numerous AMD users have reported it but there's no word if they will fix it. Most are getting along fine with 23.7.2 so just don't update.

NVIDIA works fine in VEGAS Pro, too. I'm not aware of issues at the moment.

I don't have the new pc yet but need to decide if I want a nvidia card which would cost more or amd

You can see two benchmarks in my signature for some data points. There is also techgage which has some tests.

Either maker's GPUs work fine in VEGAS. I went NVIDIA for fewer driver issues and because other software I have uses CUDA. I did buy used though as new 40XX prices are too high.
