Compatibility For Most Players

The DVDA program works pretty darn good for a 1.x release. Far ahead of a lot of other software no doubt. Now, with regard to burning movies from my camera and using the Sony DRU500 (allows for all four formats of DVD), what format is going to play on the most players? I just cut a DVD-R that wouldn't play on someones home system. I cut some DVD+R's that wouldn't play on someone's system? Most of these work perfectly on PC's that support the targeted type (-R or +R) of course!

You may be aware of this already but I'll post as a reminder just in case....

As far as I know, the +/-R is more compatible than+/-RW...which is good! - you can test a project on RW and if it plays, it will almost certainly play on a R.

The media you burn to (irrespective of - / + issue) is VERY important, especially as regards compatibility...In general, my Sony player only likes branded DVD (ie: "top" brands such as Sony, TDK, etc...I have tried Verbatim once and it spat it out at me immediately..)

For more detailed info, and useful if you know what the target DVD player is, check out the list on DVDRHelp.com.

Paul.
