I have it installed on Windows 7 and it seems to run fine with the exception that it wants a 64-bit version of Quicktime to read .dv files. I have been unable to locate a Quicktime that will install the 64-bit version.

What is the symptom of not having the 64 bit Quicktime? Is this a show stopper?

As for Quictime 64bit the apple site should be auto-detecting your version of Windows. I recently downloaded it for my 64bit Vista notebook.

Has anybody had an issue with VMS 8.0 in Win7 or Vista 64bit?

Well, here's a sad one for you- I just installed Movie Studio 9 Platinum on my new Win 7 computer. I bought it specifically because on the Sony Creative Website under "system requirements" it specifies that Windows 7 is one of thesupported operating systems.

I tried a simple project of importing a bunch of AVCHD clips from my Sony HDR-SR11 camcorder and just wanted to combine them into a single mp4 file.

But when I hit "make movie" and specify my settings, right when it should start rendering, instead I get a box that says "an exception has occurred" and it shuts the program down. It does this every time I try to render anything even if I change settings.

Now get this- I went on here on this website to send an email to tech support and of course they gather info about your computer and stuff. I immediately received an automated reply saying that no help would be offered to me by tech support because I had told them I had Windows 7 and according to the tech support email Windows 7 is NOT a supported operating system.

Now, of course I don't know whether my problem with the program is related to my OS or not, but it is infuriating that a company would clearly advertise Windows 7 as a compatible operating systen and then arbitrarily refuse to help anyone with windows 7.

So beware...if you upgrade to Win 7 you are signing away your tech support privileges!! Since Sony doesn't tell you that up front I guess it's up topeople who get burned like me to get the word out.
