compatiblity of capture cards-help pls!

Hi, i recently upgraded my captured card to a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe Version 8 and Vegas won't detect the card. When i try to capture video using the analog connection it always tells me that there is no device detected. I'm concern now that maybe the reason is compatibility?
Hope some of you can shed a light on this and maybe even help solve my problem.

Peekel, The Pinnacle card of what ever flavor they be are propriatary to the Pinnacle software for the most part. I have only experience with the old DC10 plus card I used with Pinnacle 7.15c. I abandoned that for the Canopus ADVC-1394 converter and Firewire capture card about a year ago. There is a new one out now that will out put analog as well as DV, the ACEDvio card. Vegas can use any OCHI compliant card, other than that. I'm not sure why Vegas cannot see your Pinnacle card other than the chips are not OCHI possibly. Maybe someone more versed in this can suggest another reason.
