Compositing w Parent Child: Getting Blurred Video

I'm using a large PNG paneled graphic (145MB) to blow to put video inside the panels...so I can slide across the entire graphic to reveal the video inside the panel squares. The PNG graphic is on the bottom layer as a track motion child, and the video clips that go inside the boxes follow above on separate tracks...all of these tracks are the children to the Parent Motion Track, which I use to move everything around at once.

I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 13, 64 bit. Do I need to use Adobe After Effects for this type of layering?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Blurring when dealing with high-res photos often happens if you use track motion to change the size of the photos. All re-sizing should be done using pan/crop. The problem with changing the size using track motion is that the photo is first resampled to project resolution (1920x1080 for HD), and is then reduced in size by whatever you specify in the track motion dialog. This results in blurry, fuzzy photos.

I'm figuring there's a better way to do what you want then with a 145mb PNG file. I'd have to see the project & files to get an idea, but I've done pretty complex composites w/o issues using a lot smaller files.
