Composting?

Hello,

I am trying create an effect in composting. I'm trying to get someone's head on someone else's body. It works fine as long as I'm in the middle of the frame, but as I move towards the edge of the screen the overlay hits some kind of limit and I can't follow the body all the way offscreen with it's new head.

I have the jpeg inserted in a video track above the main project and I've tried all kinds of composting settings with the same result. There is some setting on main project track that is limiting how far over I can move my overlay.

Any ideas?

Generally, composting is best done in the fall, no doubt, so you're right on time!
Seriously though, Compositing, slightly different from composting, will allow you to put another head on a person through several techniques.
Are you hitting the edge of the Jpeg boundaries when you pan? Hitting the end of the video frame with the composited track, but not with the JPEG?
Are you using Pan/Crop or Track Motion to move the new head?Track motion generally works better for this, but I'm not sure how you're mixing the images.
Can you upload a .veg and zip file of a brief section of how you are trying to achieve this?

Maybe some coffee grounds and egg shells?

It looks like there is some kind of limit withing the video frame. Here is a screen shot of what it is doing. I can move it a certain distance and then it starts to get chopped off.

The jpeg I'm working with is a cut out that's pasted into the new video track so I don't think it has any jpeg boundries?

This is because you are using Pan/Crop. You are limited to the boundaries of the frame by using this. Track motion may be used to resize, and also move the image to where you want it to be, and you're not limted to the frame boundary.
