Composting

I have a problem with the composting. I have read the manual and I also have Douglas Spotted Eagle's book.
I have made a Garbage matte to get rid of some unwanted stuff from a green screen take.I put the Garbage matte on track 1, put the original on track 2, make track 2 a child to track 1. Up to this point everything seams to work correctly. I see everything I am suppose to see trough the white part of the garbage matte, however when I put the background on track 3 it will not show trough the black part of the garbage matte
Does any body know what I do wrong. Reading the instruction it look so simple, still I can not get it to work

Of course!!!! I always wondered why it’s called a Garbage matte

Composting is the final mix after more than half the people on the planet have added all the final changes
