Compression of video in Vegas Pro 14, not effective

Rev Sir, I have taken Vegas Pro 14 Suite recently. I have a difficulty. In my Stage Concert Songs, One song was sung slow so I wish to make it faster. In my Vegas Pro 14 timeline, I cut that part of video that I wish to make it faster, placed it in another video track.

While trying to compress the video by holding the end of the video and compressing, black strip is not visible so not effective. How to make it successful Sir. Tks.

You need to hold down the Strg key while dragging the right edge of an Event.
