Compression Tips

Any Compression Tips?

My last project used:

MAX bps 9,472,000
Averagwe bps 4,190,000
Min bps 192,000

That was a single layer 2 hour movie and came out OK

The new one is dual layer and the movie is 3 hours 45 Minites
Plus 1.5 GIG ROM content

I may have to edit the movie back because quality is more imortant than quantity.

Am I in the ballpark?

Any tips apreciated.

max is to high -- scale it back to 8000 max and make min 60% of average

If nothing else I think having the minimum too low can cause players to freak out if you get a huge spike in the bitrate.

It looks like you might be able to go up to an average of 4,400,000, but just to be safe stick with 4,200,000. You could always adjust the bitrate and re-render after finding out the size after the first render. I'd probably go with a max of 7,500,000 to minimize potential playback problems.

So...

MAX 7,500,000
Average 4,200,000
MIN 2,520,000

Is a good safe plus quality starting point?
