It won't let you put another music file on the same track as your first one?

What type of files are you using?

Maybe you should try disabling the "Snap To" option.

Just tried with Snap off, it won't allow me to put anything to the "tail" of the first song.
When I try to add it to a second audio track, I can't move it over to the "tail" of below the tail of the first audio song.

Have you trimmed away (most of) the silence at the ends? Have you tried to overlap them?

In any case, putting them at separate track willl do you just as good.

TIP: In such a case, when a song is just a little too short or too long, you can edit it. Cut out a guitar solo and re-run it at the end. Or cut out verse 3 altogether.

You could also adjust the speed of your music or the rate at which your compilation moves from one pic to the other.

Speaking to your other problem, I'm trying to visualize a situation where Vegas would not allow you to place one clip (audio or video for that matter) anywhere you choose on the timeline. You should be able to put that additional audio clip right up against the tail of the first one - you should be able to lay the second right on top of the first, or anywhere you choose on a second track. . . . unless I am not understanding your question correctly.

What it sounds like you are tyring to do is one of the strengths of Vegas.

The only scenario I can imagine that might cause the sort of problem you describe would be if you had enough silence at the beginning of your second piece so that it is bumping up against the far left edge of your timeline (that would be a relatively long section of silence - longer than the length of your entire first music clip). The solution, of course, would be to split and delete the silence. Then you should be free to slide the second clip right up against the end of the first (or as I stated above, on top of the first, under or over the first on a separate track, etc.).

Let us know how it works out for you.
