Computer freeze on play back

It seems I can capture video off of a Sony dcr-trv320
camera no problem. But when I go to play it back in Video
Factory or Sonic Foundry Video Capture the computer freezes
up and I have to reboot it. It does this alot but not
always. Any suggestions.

i'm assuming you're capturing AVI? see if anything else can play the file (media player, etc). if it consistently
stops at the same spot you may have frame errors in the captured file. this happens sometimes with
camcorders. you can use a program to cut around the bad frame, but it's tricky. plus, if you have a lot of errors
it's not worth it
