I'm running v8 on vista 64. I was having intermittent slow down problems. I found the problem was the network (usb) connection. Don't know if it was the specific usb device or if it would happen with any device. But all I had to do was disconnect the device and all is well...works wonderful. Since I dont do internet with this machine (except for software updates) it is not a problem. I only have the network to back up files to other computers. So it doesn't have to be connected while running V8......
