Confused about Panasonic DVX100a, 24p & 30p

Can someone educate me on this progressive output business?

I'm working with a Panasonic DVX100a and I want progressive output for a current job (large high def screen display and web media). But, I'm totally confused on how to best work with progressive output.

To start with, I'm shooting two modes with the VX100a, 24p regular and 30p (not in the same job of course). I want to go from my DV deck to my PC. Is there anything special I need to do with Vegas in capturing progressive video? Do I need the 100a to capture or will DV deck do?

Secondly, once in my hard drive I guess, I just use the 24p or 24p advanced template but what do you do if you shot 30p??

Finally, say I edit 30p or 24p how do I export that out of Vegas o a Windows Media video file or to an MPEG2 progressive DVD clip and still keep everything progressive ??

Any help is appreciated cause this is so confusing!!!

I don't think there's anything special that you have to set in the capturing, but if there is, it would be in the options - perhaps 2-3 - 3-2 pulldown has to be selected

Secondly: I would assume that it would be settings in the Video Project Settings, making the project progressive would help and I'm not sure if you would have to do anything special to the framerate of 29.97 FPS

Finally: when you render Either output in a progressive stated Codec when you render (I.E. one that denotes a "p" after it) or create a varried setting in the avi file setting (or whatever your codec is) by hitting the "custom" button next to the codec style drop down box.

hope that helps (hope I'm right) :)
