I am a bit of a novice at this game and require some assistance please! I am experiencing problems with my firewire connection (I think!). I can connect my DVC via firewire in 'Camera' mode and the 'live' pictures appear on my PC monitor and I can capture them to my PC no problem (using Vegas video capture). The problem arises when I try to save previously recorded foootage from my DVC to the PC. As soon as I switch my DVC from 'Camera' to 'Playback', the system seems to hang and tells me that my camera is no longer connected. This function used to work when I used Win98 but since upgrading to XP I can no longer do the above. I also cannot Print to tape as my system will not recognise the DVC in 'playback' mode. All my devices appear to be working ok in device manager. Forgot to sat that I cannot capture using Windows Movie maker as the same problem occurs. Can I rule out my firewire card and cable due to the fact that the camera is recognised in 'Camera' mode and I can capture live footage this way??? Any help appreciated!!!
