Consolidate events/clips

Still learning some basic editing and would like to know if you can turn all the clips or events on your video/audio timeline into one editable event or single clip without all the breaks in between the different clips on the timeline.
I'm using (Vegas Movie Studio 10 HD Platinum).

If you render out to a new file, you'll have a single clip. However, if you're going to edit it, you need the smaller pieces. Just render to the final file when you're done editing.
