Paul, that is an excellent suggestion and one that I would love to see implemented as there are several effects that I have never used and will never use :)
While we're at it, can we add Transitions to that list please!
Make SCS aware of it here.

Yes, it is inconsistent that you can create a folder in the plug-in chooser window and move, but not copy, effects to a favorites folder. So why not the same in the Video FX tab. Then again, why the heck in the plug-in chooser and Video FX not using the same tree structure.

Even if SCS would not do something generalized, like folders we define, then they can have a special, "Favorites" folder and with a right click we can add/remove items from favorites.
