Constant crash in V15 and V16

Hi there

I've been experiencing constant random crashing in Movie Studio. The crashes can happen at any time. I lived with it for 6 months and then I upgraded from 15 to 16 in the hope this would improve it but it's made it worse. Sometimes it even crashes when I go to open a project - before I've even selected anything. It has also occurred on the following

Dragging video file
Adding video files
Adding effects
Pretty much everything

I've tried running it in Administrator mode with no better results.

Are there any preferences that I can change to make it more stable.

my PC spec is:
!^GB RAM
I7-7700 3.60
64 bit windows home

All thoughts welcome.

!^GB RAM is much to low and give here screenshots of your now used preferences.

I suspect it's a typo and should be 16 (same key on my keyboard).

not sure what you need to see. This is the only system-related bit, the other tabs are workflow related

There I see for video accelaration help a Nvidia GPU you did not state at your hardware. Which type and which driverversion is used?
Sometimes it helps also in this preference item to lower the amount of thumbnails

Is it better if you turn GPU acceleration OFF in Preferences > Video?

Ok. after Windows updates it now doesn't even start. It starts and after 10 seconds it crashes. yesterday I tried with both acceleration on and off - still crashes. I am using the most up-to-date Studio driver. I'm in the middle of a critical project. I am now very near re-training on other software. Can anybody recommend any free ones?

I'm not sure how you can turn the GPU acceleration on or off if the application doesn't even start. Can you give us some idea of the media that you are using?

I was able to turn it on and off yesterday. today it opens but only last around 10 seconds before crashing. So...no media.

I have done a complete re-installation and am now able to access the program. It seems to be stable but haven't put it through it paces yet.

👍You may have to take a different icon because with such a dice you can fall to all coloured sides with Z. 😁😉
