constrain media - link unlink audio video-strip silence-adjust for random clicks

oddboy wrote on 10/27/2002, 12:12 AM
how do i constrain media when dragging so it does not shift when i drag to new track?

how do i link and unlink audio and video

for instance : i brought in a avi clip which has both. then when i went to move the video the audio did not follow, causing me to have to select both for every nudge.
i tried grouping them and it did not work

is there a strip silence command for audio

Hi oddboy,

>>>how do i constrain media when dragging so it does not shift when i drag to new track?<<<

If you wish the clip to move vertically *only*, you might try numpad-8, numpad-2

>>>how do i link and unlink audio and video<<<

You might try the "ignore event grouping" button on the toolbar (or not)

You might make sure the "ignore event grouping" button on the toolbar is not active

>>>is there a strip silence command for audio<<<

Not sure whatcha mean, but you *can* drag audio-only or video-only from the trimmer window... try a right-click for trimmer options.

Thanks!!!

Strip silecnce is common among audio editors such as PT or others. with a threshold control you decide how much of the block of audio will be "stripped away" for instant edits. As it stands now, in Vegas, I am doing alot of slicing and fading to achive the smae efect.....carpotunnel!!!!

Do you know how to jump cursor to previous or next boundry

Hi OB,

Strip sounds interesting... methinks VV not got it.

To jump:

You might try Ctl-Alt-Arrow in the active track...
