Highlight your button. Upper right should be "button properties"
Click on "media"
Go to 'thumbnail properties" and click on start time
You can type in the start time or you can bring up the slider that lets you scan through the media and pick a frame. Basically any frame in the media can be used.

Terry's right and I would only add that you can get finer control if you press the Ctrl. button as you drag the bar to select the particular image you want.

What i usually do is find the frame i want in Vegas. When i'm on that frame the timecode will be displayed in the first of the three little boxes under the bottom right corner of the timeline. I highlight that and copy it, then paste it into the properties screen in DVDA. Just seems a lot easier that way.

One more option: Navigate into the media so that it shows in the workspace and find the frame you want using the timeline. Then right-click the media in the Project Overview window and choose "Set Thumbnail from View."

So many different ways to get to the same place. Thats whats so great (and sometimes so confusing) about Vegas.
