I have a 6 minute project that I need to print 20 times to a 2hr. tape. How do I do that automatically? Also, I do not want the bars and tone between each segment. Thanks
Why not just copy it 19 more times on the timeline...it's not "automatic," but a very quick and simple solution. The color bars would only appear at the opening of the entire tape. You may be able to remove them entirely in the preferences.
What DV tape/mode are you using to be able to record 2 hrs?
In addition to copying it 19 times on the timeline, you could use Video Capture Batch Print queue to it. Just render out one version from Vegas with the bars, load that into the print queue, and then render out another version with out the bars and load that 19 times into the print queue.
Getting rid of the bars is very simple. If printing from the timeline, set leader times to zero. If you render and print from Vidcap30, there will be no leaders unless you've created them manually on the timeline.
The idea of printing from vidcap30, and loading multiple copies of the same file sounds like the most elegant solution (and certainly will involve far less rendering time.
I am recording to VHS. The "Capture Batch Print" worked like a charm. Thanks for your help. Having Sonic guys following this forum and responding promptly is what converted me to Vegas. I prerviously used DVRaptor and no one from that company reads (or at least responds to) user's concerns on their own forum. Keep up the good work.
I would agree that this forum is one of the best because SF folks monitor and participate in it, because the user base seems also to be very capable, and because, in general, the focus here is on helping and problem solving. There are refreshingly few flame wars here (at least in my experience).
Additionally, SF seems to be continuously working to tweek their software to correct problems, moreso, in my experience, than any other video editing software maker of which I have knowledge.
I hold the Steinberg folks who monitor Wavelab in the same high esteem. Again, you have not only representatives of the SF mfr, but actual programmers monitoring and interacting online with users to perfect what is already a fine product.
I will continue to support SF's products for this reason (don't know if that makes any difference to anyone, but it certainly makes me feel good about my decision to purchase VV).
In my limited experience:
VV3 seems to be the best product and the best value -- with the best support team, engineering integrity, helpful features and user groups -- "and it even does windows!" (I feel sorry for all the Mac folks.)
DVCAM tapes record 3 hours in DVCAM mode and over 4 hours in DV mode. great for those long training seminars so you don't have to interrupt to switch tapes.
Moreover, the feedback we're able to get from you folks is invaluable in helping create even better products. Really, you're part of our team in this respect.
