Contour Shuttle

I had the same issue when I first installed Vegas 5, so I emailed their support people and got a reply (that worked!) literally within minutes!

Here's the guts of the email:

1) Open the Shuttle Control Panel
2) Select Vegas 4 as you Application Setting
3) Select Options -> Create New Settings -> Copy Contents from Current Setting
4) A new dialog box will then open. Find the executable file for Vegas 5, select it, and select Open

You now have a setting for Vegas 5. Feel free to rename the setting to whatever you choose and modify any of the buttons or wheels that don't perform to your liking. When you start Vegas 5, it will use the setting you just created.

Hope this helps you.

Sony provides ShuttlePro/XPress settings files for Vegas 5, VidCap 5, and DVDA2 in the respective program directories. All you need to do is open the Shuttle Control Panel, click Options->Import Settings, and find each file in the browser.

Does anyone know if it's possible to make the Shuttle Pro wheel act as a contoller for automated envelopes?

Just wondering ....

Also - what's the simplest Mackie type interface to use as a Control surface?

Ah so .. Pete! Yer gonna put yer money down . . . . eh? Means less time on those yachts, drinking beer ! ! ! Good to see you've got yer priorities right at last . .. HAHAHAH . . . So you like the Control surfaces thingy? Neat eh! . . I just did a test using the CSP .. the wheels - inner and outer's "focus" is with the "scrub" on the timeline. Meaning, when you turn the wheels - either - the movie scrolls, as you'd expect, yeah? However, maybe one could set up the CSP wheels to do something else . .bit nasty that one . . I'd get in an awful pickle with switching from CSP scrubbing to Auto Envels and back again . .messy . . maybe not good .. . However [ 2nd however . . ] I have used the Thumb Wheel on my MS rodent while SIMULTANEOUSLY scrubbing with the INTERNAL wheel of the CSP - HAHAHAHA! Should've joined that Circus when it came to Town all those decades ago . . . This gives me masses of control . . . and looks kinda cute when I do this .. Left hand forefinger in inner CSP wheel . . Right hand forefinger adjusting the MS rodent thumb wheel . .then look at the audio envels appear on the Audio track . .This should/would work with the video levels too . . Ho yes been playing with this over the past 24 hours . . .amazing!!!

Does this help? Or have I gone way way off beam again?
