Control Surface Banking

Does anyone know if control surfaces with motorized faders have any memory to store fader positions from bank to bank?

For example: using the generic drivers with Vegas5, if I set faders in one bank, then go to another bank and set faders, and then go back to the previous bank, will the control surface remember the prrevious fader positions? Or, does it only set them when receiving position data from the host?

I am looking at several options that may never have specific drivers for them, so this information would help a lot in deciding if it's worth it to purchase.

Also, is it possible the generic driver will ever send data to the controller in a future revision?

Thanks in advance.

As you bank on an external control, the driver recieves/updates the position for the "channels" that are being controlled by the device. In the case of the Mackie, the faders will snap to position to reflect the currently control channels.

The Generic Surface Control driver is a "work in progress". There is every intent on it being more capable of supporting a broader range of devices. I can't say as to when any specific feature will be made available.
