Converting HD to SD

I have a tape that was recorded in HD. Is there any way that I can get it on to the Vegas timeline, using my SD camera? If there is a way, can HD and SD be sucessfully edited together? Thanks.

NO, sorry.

Yes. Simplest approach is to get a HDV deck and set it into Downconvert which will let you capture from the HDV tape like it's SD DV.
You didn't mention if your SD is 4:3 or 16:9 though, all HD is 16:9 so you'll have to workout what you're going to do about that. You can crop the 16:9 to 4:3 during the downconvert and pray that nothing vital gets cropped off.
