Converting project files V6 <-> V8

For a bunch of varied reasons, I've got a documentary I'm working on in Vegas 6. But, I'd like to also be able to work on another machine which has Vegas 8.

But, Vegas 8 seems to only save .veg files in V8 format.

Is there a way to convert or save project files in V6 format? Or, perhaps some other intermediary file format that preserves all the data?

Converting the project to Vegas 8 isn't really an option. (one example: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=561007)

As far as I know you can only up-convert -- i.e., vers. 6 to 8. Of course you could render the vers. 8 work and bring it back into 6 if that's an acceptable work around.

As long as you're not running it on both machines simultaneously you could install V6 on the other machine and use it there. That way you'd have the same version on both.

There's a 'sort of' work-around which I use. I have a title generator which is flacky in V8 so I do my titles, credit rolls etc in V6 and then nest this V6 file in V8, which has multicam which I love. This way I can revert to V6 file as and whenrequired.
