coockie cutter crop changing during render

in case anyone else runs into this:

I got overly creative with a rectangle crop larger than the frame with a feathering. during all modes of preview it looked perfectly fine. so I did my 4 hour render, watched through it and the right side looked like it was misaligned and showed something below it should not have.

I triple checked it in the previews draft, ok , good, best and all looked fine. I tried RENDERING again, just a few seconds during that part, and during the render, the lil preview screen SHOWED the glitch while it rendered it.

I went back into my Cookie Cutter - I had the location pegged at the very top on purpose, but it wasn't EXACTLY centered... off a decimal place or two, which I thought was just fine.
Yet it affected the final render whilst looking just fine in the preview.

Was rendering to MP4 if anyone cares. Anyway, next test render looked fine so we'll see

Were you rendering to the same resolution as the project?

yepper. HD 1920x1080 23.796267368746245642 whatever that off frame rate it :)

it was so weird that exact centering fixed the edge that already looked ok in full sized/quality preview mode

I stopped using cookie cuttter because I found it very awkward and would do strange things. I use the mask function in pan/crop instead.

heh. and here I thought I was causing it problems. it does seem to act flakey to me also. MOST of the time it comes up and defaults to CIRCLE, and I can't change by removing and readding it. Gotta sve, shutdown vegas, reopen to change to oval etc

I'll keep that in mind.
