cookie cutter

This cookie cutter needs and improvement. I tryied to have set of "choppers"
walking accross screen and cut away portion to become visible as they walk
accross.Need more flexibility in this.Using rectangle to step by step cut away portion(bottom of the screen) it does cut bu in effect cut more that I want to. I tryied all possible settings and some effect. Adjusting size and border and center.
Any ideas. The "choppers" walk from right to left at the bottom, then goes up and then left, and finaly to the bottom.
As they walk around the screen, they supposed to expose image.

You might try putting your video on a separate track, and then using the track pan/crop controls instead. The cookie cutter is very cumbursome to use.

Thanks johnmeyer for the hint. I use 2 blanks(black) and by pan/crop each of them I have desire effect for the bottom of the screen. For the rest of the cutting I my have to use 4 blanks(black from media generator. It will be a lot of work to jump betwine them to get the effect. I wish that the cookie cutter was more flexible.
Thanks again.
It is going to be a long night.

There may be several elegant solutions to this. But I don't fully "see" the effect you want to achieve. Do you want a gradual revealing of the video or do you want it revealed in steps (chunks)? What are choppers?

Speaking of the cookie cutter... I'd like to make change the proportions of the rectangle i.e. make it shorter & wider. Is there a way to do this?

I did finish this project, but not that night. Got about half into and next woke-up with my head on desk and pain in my neck. The effect is of set of jaw annimated going from right bottom around the screen and revilling undernight a image. Three black mask images to adjust(pan/crop) as the jaw(choppers)
walk.
I will upload the veg with images to my web site as soon as I get time.

It should be there by 18th

I also would like to find a way to change the rectangle shape (maybe ellipse shape and angle of axes too). This would give the cookie cutter much more flexibility.

All files uploaded to my web site. If any one know better way to do this project I welcome suggestions. I doo not think that I would like to do this again.
It kind of scramble my brain. Three images pan/crop at some time.
It has to be a better way.

You can use a generated gradient in the shape you wish, and keyframe it more easily, plus parent several together if you need to.

Will try this way, but look like it is more work that doing the way I did.
Thanks
