Cookie Cutter help

I am in Movie Studio 8.0 and I have two video clips one on top of the other in the timeline.

You know on two diferand traks and I want to use the Cookie Cutter to cut half of one video and half of the other video so they look like they are right next to one another.

So I go to the FX Tab and pick Sqware Cut left cookie cutter. And the window opens up and there is a sqware in my Prevue window over my video clip.

So I gess you somehow make it bigger or smaller and put it on the left or right side of the screen.

But you can see through it so will it cut the video or how do I use it to remove just half of the video clipc??

I suggest you don't use the cookie cutter for this job, but you use the Pan/Crop way.

Ok I know how to use the Pan/Crop but I can only overlap two video clips.

I don't know how to Cut Half of eatch video clip out so I can place then side by side.

Download the manual of Vegas Pro in PDF format to read about pan/crop. Also, the best way to learn to use this important tool is to experiment with it. You won't regret it.

I have Movie Studio 8.0 and I want into the help files for Pan and Crop.

There was nothing about Cutting half of the Video off screen so you just have one side showing.

It just had how to scall and move and resize.

Please help

OK OK with a lot of plaing around I now know ho to use pan.crop to overlay two video clips and put them side by side on the same screen.

But I still don't know how to Cut the Left side and Right side of a video clip off so I can push the to halfs right next to one another on screen.

Did you get it?

Put the Cookie Cutter on the upper track, although you will have you put the Size down to about .3 so it doesn't cover all of the bottom track. Move it near to where you want it and put the size up to .43 Square and tweak it from there.

You told me that I should use the Pan.Crop fx then the Cookie Cutter.

So I put bot traks on the timline and I can use the pan crop to put them side by side.

Now can I use the Pan Crop to cut away half the video if so HOW?

I don't see any kind of tool

Use event pan/crop. Make sure that lock aspect ratio is NOT depressed. Drag one side or the other toward the middle. This will cut the event in half (or however far you drag it). Do the same to a second video event on a track below the first track. Then use TRACK MOTION to move one event to the left and the other event to the right. Season to taste.
