Cookie Cutter thing.

Well, imagine a picture with a U with a dot over it or something, the U and dot is black, the rest is white.

Can i in some way apply that to Vegas video and make it so that everything black in the picture is transparent (as in Cookie Cutter.)

With other words, the white in the picture is one video layer of lets say a dog, the black is another video layer with lets say a ball.

So I see both the video with the dog and the ball in a Cookie Cutter fashion.

Well, if you understand what i mean.

I remember you could do that in Adobe Premiere but i prefer vegas video, i like the interface more and its easier to use.

Do anyone know what i am trying to accomplish? Hehe, if so, please respond.

Use the "chromakey" and select white with the eyedropper and it will turn tansparent.

That's one way.

If you are going to use black and white as a mask then you can use a composite track and a Mask Generator:

1. Place the black and white mask on the top track (track 1)
2. Place the image you want to show through the white on the next track (track 2)
3. Use the Make Composite Child button on the second track (bottom) to make it a child of the first (top) track
4. Click on the Compositing Mode and select Multiply (Mask). You should now see the second track show through where the white is
5. Add a third track to the bottom (track 3) for your second layer
6. Add the Video FX Sony Mask Generator to the first track (top) and it will cause this third track to show through where the black is
