Copy a CD in CDA 50a

Hi -

Please forgive my "nóòbéèness," but, even after rtfm [reading the f@#$%^g manual], I cannot figure out how to copy a CD in CDA 50a.

Am I missing something here, or does CDA *not* do direct copying of CDs? If not [don't tell me -- not a Red Book standard?], then which app(s) do ye gurus use to copy? (I guess I can try my luck with Ulead or Nero.) Or...might it actually be a better move to extract the audio, then burn the new CD? (Will the extra step plus the "fresh burn" actually yield better quality than the touted bit-for-bit direct copy??)

As always, your wisdom and help is appreciated. Cheers! :)

Sorry, forgot to ask about this possible option:

Make an image file of the original, then burn the copy from the image?

Thanx again!

If all you want to do is copy audio CD's, I recomend Exact Audio Copy

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

It's essentially free.

..... or any of the other CD copying programs out there, that feature CD copying in their feature set. CDA is something quite a different thing.
