Copy a video event in the timeline without his audio to another track

Amivideotek wrote on 12/24/2022, 4:29 AM

A simple question: can I copy a video event in the timeline from one track to another without making a copy of its sound?
A bit similar when placing a movie from the Project Media with the right mouse button pressed.

A simple answer: Just press "U" (ngroup) before copying.

Yes, that is entirely possible. Highlight both the video and audio events and hit keyboard key "U" (for Ungroup); then copy/paste the video event to the other video track. Or, rather than copy/pasting, you can hold down the Ctrl key and click on the video event and move it to a higher or lower video - this creates a copy of the video event.

If you want to regroup the audio and video events, highlight the events that you want to group and hit keyboard key "G" to group.

I knew the "U" function, but I always used it after making a copy, and then I always have to delete an audio track again! Your method of ungrouping first is certainly better.
But placing a video event from Project Media or directly from Windows Explorer with the right mouse button pressed and thus gives us the choice of what should be copied I also very handy!
Thank you for your response.🙃
