Copy and paste events

I don't know if something has changed in my settings, but now when I double click to select a video and audio event on the timeline to cut and paste it into another section on the timeline, only the audio OR video pastes, even though both were cut. Have done this successfully, same way many times, so don't know what is going on. The online help and other sources I've consulted are of no help, so hoping someone out there has a (probably very simple) answer. thanks a lot.
I got my other problem about combing files solved, thanks to all who replied.

Why double-click? When I double-click it only selects the event I'm clicking on. I've not tried before but I never heard of double-clicking selecting both audio and video as a "group" in any Vegas version.

Why not single-click then ctrl or shift click the rest of the events?

There's a setting in Preferences to send to trimmer when double-clicked but I think this applies to media not on the timeline.

Like mjhig said, you simply have to ctrl+(one)click the events you want to copy-paste... In fact , you select all the clips you want the usual way you do with any document in Windows then ctrl+drag; all the clips will move as one.
You can also select the clips, then ctrl+c / place the cursor and select track (on the far left) / ctrl+v and all your clips will be copied from where you placed your cursor on the timeline and from the track you selected all the way down (if you had more than one layer of video tracks previously selected).
And keep in mind you can do exactly this from one opened instance of Vegas to another one, so you can work out "difficult/more complex parts" af a whole project into isolated "pieces". You can run as many instances of Vegas as your system will permit...

Concerning double-click to Trimmer, it applies to clips on the Timeline AND Explorer, When you set your pref for this, you either choose to 2-click-send to Timeline OR 2click-send to Trimmer.
