Copy Background Images?

Does anyone know how to get a background image free for editing in Vegas?

I want to copy a background still image and place it into Vegas then convert it into a short video with a scrolling text that lets viewers know there is an "extras folder". My problem is I don't know how to copy the backgrounds. I've tried highlighting them and hitting ctrl+c, right clicking them etc. but can't seem to get them loose from the backgrounds folder. I even went into the program to try to find them but couldn't. And I learned you can't simply add a video track in the menu timeline so I need to produce the menu as an all-in-one video (background plus scrolling text).

Start a new project, select the background, delete the title, choose preview, adjust preview quality, Ctrl C. Now paste into any image editor and save.

Thanx TOG62!. Your procedure worked perfectly. Too bad one can't just add another video track for the text but I guess that's just the way it is.

I'm not sure if this helps, or what Sony thinks of your use of it, but the backgrounds are PNG files.

For example:
C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Roaming\Sony\DVD Architect Pro\5.2\Themes\AmericanFootball.thm

Thanx Steve, I found them in there with your method as well (but I had to "show hidden folders" to get to AppData in Win7). I assume I could add my own PNG background images in this folder as well? I'll give it a try.

I think you can replace an existing PNG image. I never use themes, preferring to do all my menus in Photoshop.
